Spring is finally here and so are the spring drinks this year from Starbucks. Fan-favorite drinks such as the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Latte are back from last year.
“A spring favorite would probably be the Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha Latte,” said Brady Groesbeck, a Starbucks employee.
Groesbeck has worked at Starbucks for two and a half years, spending the past one and a half years working at the State Street location in Ann Arbor.
“Lavender is the perfect flavor to transition us from the winter season into spring,” said Patrick Penny, Starbucks beverage developer. “Its soft sweetness, light floral notes and beautiful color ignite feelings of rejuvenation and awakening associated with the change of seasons.”
New drinks such as the Iced Cherry Chai are gaining a lot of popularity. The Iced Cherry Chai is a very flavorful drink that captivates you from the very first sip. Baristas top the iced chai with cherry cream cold foam, then top the drink off with a sprinkle of cherry crunch topping.
Another new drink on the menu, the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha Latte, a creamy matcha. Topped with lavender-flavored foam, it gave off a very floral taste which gives a perfect spring taste, and these drinks offer a great first look into this year’s menu.
On top of that, Starbucks is rolling out a new menu item—the Jalapeño Chicken Pocket. This spicy, grab-and-go option wraps together diced chicken, charred poblanos, jalapeños, jalapeño cream cheese and a bold three-chile-pepper cheese in a chili-infused flatbread.
As spring arrives, Starbucks delights customers with a well made lineup of flavorful seasonal drinks. Incorporating previous fan favorites like the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Latte and new additions such as the Iced Cherry Chai and Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha Latte, Starbucks brought new floral flavors which capture the season of spring perfectly. Along with the drinks, Starbucks’ new food option, the Jalapeño Chicken Pocket, caters towards those looking for a spicy kick instead of a sweet drink. Whether you’re walking into a Starbucks for a sweet treat or a savory option, Starbucks has you covered this spring.
