With millions of albums sold in the UK alone and countless chart topping singles, British Rock band “Oasis” once had what was thought to be a monopoly on the music industry. The band began its career with five original members, but was primarily composed and started by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. In 1994, Oasis dropped their debut single “Supersonic.” That same year they released their album “Definitely Maybe, which became a smashing hit in the UK.
Though the band began with five members throughout the years, the three non-Gallagher members seemed to be constantly fluctuating. For a brief period in 2004”, the band became a quartet. As of 2025, the band is said to be composed of six musicians, three of which were members of the original band. In 2009 the band officially split up due to Noel Gallagher stating that he would be leaving the band due to disagreements with his brother Liam.
Expected to start July 4th, the tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, and the first leg of the tour travels throughout the UK and wraps up in Dublin, Ireland. From Aug. 24 to Sept. 12, the group will tour around North America and will come to an end on Nov. 23rd in São Paulo, Brazil.
After being broken up for 15 years, the announcement of a reunion tour was headlining news. Both longtime Oasis fans, and a new generation of listeners are excited for what’s to come for the band.
CHS student Izzy Santiago plans to attend one of the shows in Pasadena. Santiago got her first introduction to the band through her stepdad and has been listening since. Both excited and grateful for the opportunity, Santiago eagerly waits for the concert in sept.
“They don’t have that many shows, it’s a rare opportunity and I think it’s going to be a really fun time, I’m glad everything worked out for them,” Santiago says.
As of right now, Oasis is preparing for the upcoming shows and promoting the tour in numerous ways. With cryptic and strategic announcements and teaser videos, the band captured the attention of many, and gained traction from the public. Using twitter as their platform, both brothers have tweeted hints pertaining to the tour and even connected with fans, spreading the word about the tour. British news site “The Guardian” expects the tour to be phenomenal with ticket sales and has potential to outsell current icons like Taylor Swift and Beyconcé, and is expected to bring in record breaking revenue.
After their 2025 tour comes to an end, the future of the band is uncertain, but speculation of an anniversary tour in 2027 has been conjured by fans over various social media platforms. However, now, Oasis has not put out any information regarding a second tour.
As Oasis prepares to get back on the road, the tour is expected to be a highly anticipated event by new sites such as CBS news.. Regaining traction as one of UK’s iconic rock bands holds a promising future for the brothers, and a beginning of a new generation of listeners. While the future of the band is uncertain, the influence from their comeback has shown no signs of the band’s impact fading. Whether this be the band’s final farewell or a start of a new chapter Oasis continues to stay active in the music industry.
