Angela Davis watches the unveiling of the Jones School plaque. Davis was proud of how hard the community worked to put up this marker and uncover pieces of Ann Arbor’s history. “Where we are is the mecca of the Black community, and to have this marker, the ceremony, the veiling on the marker, and everything else that’s going on really speaks volumes for everyone,” Davis said. “We are successful. We are family. And that doesn’t mean just us, but that means we are family with everyone. Really proud to be a part of this ceremony.”
