I’ve gone to many amusement parks such as Walt Disney World and Michigan Adventure. And within all of them, Universal Studios in Florida has always been the one that stands out. From amazing rides from the Hulk to Harry Potter, there is never a boring moment. With so many rides and attractions, these are my favorites.
1. Harry Potter Land
Within Universal Studios, there is an entire section dedicated to Harry Potter. The park itself is modeled after Diagon Alley, a wizarding shopping street in Harry Potter, and is an almost perfect replica of the movie. With places like Leaky Cauldron with delicious food, such as butter beer, a liquified butterscotch, there’s never a dull moment. Along with the Leaky Cauldron, another popular destination is Olivander's wand shop. They have wands of all of the characters in the books, as well as some of their own.
Around the park, there are also specific spots where visitors can trace designs with their purchased wands to activate “magic”. The only downside is the price, with one wand priced over 90 dollars. Lastly, Diagon Alley was a blast with the ride Harry Potter and the Escape with Gringotts. Diagon Alley was my favorite part of all of Universal, with so many fun things to do.
Alongside Diagon Alley, there also was Hogwarts. By taking the Hogwarts Express, a train, you can make it to the Hogwarts attraction, and the entire building was impressively accurate to the one in the movie. The ride is a ride with 3D glasses to make it look real. I loved it very much, but it is the worst one to ride for people with motion sickness.
2. The Hulk Ride
The Hulk roller coaster was the second biggest roller coaster at Universal Studios that I saw. It’s your regular roller coaster, but extremely fast. I had never been on a roller coaster that big before, so that was the only roller coaster I was scared of, and I don’t get scared on roller coasters easily. The Hulk coaster included loops, spins and a fog machine. It’s definitely not good for people who have sensitive necks or can’t handle high force, but fun for anyone who can handle it.
3. Simpsons Land
Lastly on my favorites list is the Simpsons roller coaster. It wasn’t as big as some of the ones in the park, which was nice for me, and it’s definitely for younger people who want to go on a roller coaster but not something massive or scary.
It’s not a “real” roller coaster but rather a VR ride with a large screen, but even so, it looked and felt very real, with even water elements in the ride. The water was very minimal, however, it was still a fun thing to add to the illusion.
There are many rides at Universal Studios, but these are some of my favorites. I hope that I can go back to Universal once again to have even more fun at Harry Potter Land, the Hulk Ride and Simpsons Land. Universal was a fun experience for me, and I recommend any of these rides for anyone and everyone who loves theme parks.
