The 2025 Spirit Week at CHS featured a spectacle of themed days. Spirit week started on Monday, Oct. 20 and ended on Friday, Oct. 24. Students participated in themed days and at the end of the week, CHS held their annual Halloween dance.
Day one: Soccer mom vs. BBQ dad
Students arrived at school with two outfit options to choose from; soccer mom or barbeque dad. Some students who chose to dress as a soccer mom wore things like Lululemon, puffer vests and accessorized with sunglasses and purses. Alternatively, people who chose to dress as barbeque dads wore things like aprons, drew on mustaches and wore baseball caps.
Day two: PJ Day
For the second day of Spirit Week, students got to dress in their comfiest clothes for pajama day. Students wore matching sets, fun slippers, onesies and some even brought stuffed animals and blankets to school.
Day three: Rhyme without reason
On day three, students were given the task of rhyming their costume with a group of people. Students dressed with their friends as “frat bro and tennis pro,” “princess and wild west” and “Chips Ahoy and Soulja Boy.”
Day four: Forum Costume
Students at CHS are assigned a forum that meets twice a week, from freshman year until senior. Forum at CHS is a possible place where students can look for support and talk to peers in every grade about what might be happening at school. During spirit week students in each forum decide on a forum costume for the group to wear. This year there were many interesting costumes such as the Richmond forum dressed as CareBears or the McCormick forum as Minions. Forums get the chance to be creative with their costumes each year and show off their forum spirit to the rest of CHS.
Day five: Monochrome
For the last day of spirit week, the theme was monochrome. Students curated outfits that were one color from head-to-toe. The halls were filled with people dressed head-to-toe in many colors, such as black, white, blue and orange. Even Professor Vile’s giraffe stood outside his classroom dressed in all black!
CHS students and staff showed their school spirit and creativity by dressing up throughout the week and CHS Forum Council worked hard to organize the Halloween dance and make spirit week a memorable experience.
