On Friday, May 20th, Community High School will be continuing one of its long lasting traditions: forum day. After having a blast during the fall forum day, excitement arises for the spring forum day. “I’m excited because I really like my forum,” said ninth grader and Grace forum member Tracy Scherdt. “Our last forum trip [to Canada] was so fun, so I expect this one to be too.”

But Scherdt is not the only fired-up freshman. Casey MacDonald, a member of the Stapleton forum, told all about their upcoming trip: “We’re going to Hocking Hills and staying in cabins (in Ohio). We’re going zip lining and water rafting…and eating puppy chow. Keely [O’Donnell] makes the best puppy chow.”

In the past, forums have gone on international trips such as a two night stay in Canada, as well as local trips like stopping into Zap Zone for a few rounds of laser tag.  This spring, here is what all of the forums are doing:

Coron Forum: Having a tropical themed sleepover at Weber’s Inn.
DeWoskin Forum: Going to see The Hangover 2 then heading back to CHS for a sleepover.
El-Hussieny Forum: Going camping at Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Flores Forum: Going to Zap Zone and Washtenaw Dairy.
Grace Forum: Having a scavenger hunt in Nichols Arboretum then heading over to someones house for the evening.
Haidu-Banks Forum: Going out for lunch at Café Havana and then playing a few rounds of Putt Putt.
Johnson Forum: Going bowling.
Kulka Forum: Having breakfast at Community, then going canoeing, and having picnic at Gallop Park.
Levin Forum: Going to Zap Zone then having a sleeping over at a members house.
McGraw Forum: Playing kickball at Allmendinger Park.
Miller Forum: Having a sleepover at Brian’s house.
Mosher Forum: Taking a trip up to Mackinac City.
Root Forum: Going to a forum member’s cabin.
Rosewarne Forum: Having a talent show and a sleepover at CHS.
Simmer Forum: Having a barbeque at Vets Park, going to a movie, and then sleeping at Weber’s Inn.
Stapleton Forum: Going to stay in cabins at Hocking Hills in Ohio.
Stern Forum: Going to stay in cabins in Waterloo.
Strassel Forum: Going camping at Lake Side Ohio.
Thomas Forum: Going camping at Irish Hills.
Tuzinsky Forum: Going to stay in Traverse City at a member’s cottage.
