Take your taste buds on a trip to Italy! Indulge them in the finest pesto emerged in San Giovanni in Fiore- a small town in southern Italy. This delicious pesto sauce was made from a recipe that was passed on by Paul Martin’s Italian grandmother. It’s made with fresh organic basil, parmesan cheese, olive oil base, pine nuts and garlic.

“Onward and Upward,” Martin said.

And that is Right! It was just about 2 years ago  when Paul Martin and his sister started this amazing family Organic Pesto business. You can find the product at the Whole Foods on Washtenaw st. and now, this year- for his first time- Martin is proud to sell his family’s pesto to the über urban Ann Arbor’s Farmers Market.

“A week, we go through about 30 lbs of basil and make close to 450 containers of basil,” Martin said.

But it most certainly doesn’t stop there. Martin has many hopes and dreams for the family’s business. The Martins envisions owning a pure harvest farm where they grow their own basil organically in greenhouses, and growing throughout the midwest. Maybe in the next 5 to 10 year? So stay tuned.
