Super Bowl XLVIII: Seattle Triumph

NFL football fans all over the nation are labeling this years super bowl as a “blowout and a disappointment”.

This years super bowl was a matchup between the Denver Bronco’s #1 offense and the Seattle Seahawks’ #1 defense. A clash of two wills and two great leaders: Peyton Manning the starting Broncos quarterback and star cornerback of the Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman, known for his height and athleticism and also a bit of an innovator being a 6’3 corner.

Prior to the game Seattle seem to be the public favorite. 8 out of 10 community high school students placed their bets on the Seahawks. … “I don’t like Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning so thats why I thought the Seahawks would win” … “ I thought the Seahawks would win because their jerseys look cool” … “The Broncos will definitely lose. Defense always beats out offense.”… Some of the things CHS students had to say before the game.

The Seattle defense was relentless and consistent. Some would argue that the tone for the game was set by the bad snap causing a safety in the 1st quarter.

The Seahawks left the Broncos with their their shellacking making light work out of their opponent and bringing the win back to Seattle.

Needless to say, the Seahawks offense was dominant in this one sided fight. From running back Marshawn Lynch to Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse to corner Richard Sherman to Safety Kam Chancellor, the Seahawks had an outstanding performance on both sides of the ball. The world was expecting more out of the Broncos and quarterback Peyton Manning.

Not only was it a win for the players but it was a great triumph for the Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. “I think as we have seen in the past, sometimes games go, and sometimes it can be kind of like an avalanche. The scores start happening. Field position just tilts and everything goes your way.” Words said by the Carroll at the Super Bowl 48 Press Conference. A Seattle triumph.
