Skyline Lacrosse Season Recap
As Ann Arbor Skyline sports have struggled to make a name for themselves in recent years, the 2013-14 season has been phenomenal with Men’s Soccer and Women’s field hockey each bringing home the school’s first two state titles and the Men’s basketball team reaching the State Quarterfinals. The Men’s Lacrosse team has been no exception and is poised to make a deep run in the playoff tournament this year. The Eagles have gone 13-2-1 in the regular season and 7-1 in the SEC and have won their last 8 games.
Their first loss came to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern in their second game of the season where they lost 11-19. This acted as a wakeup call as they won their next three games by no less than 11 each, all against conference opponents including both city-rivals. Their next loss was at Saline in a tight game, losing 9-10. The Eagles have played with tenacity this season and earned their way to number 16 in the state according to laxpower.com. With an average margin of victory of more than six goals, Skyline’s offense has, no doubt, led them to this position. However their defense is nothing to laugh at, allowing fewer than six goals per game.
