When somebody asks me my favorite Disney movies, only a few specific ones come to mind: The Lion King, every single Toy Story movie, Finding Nemo and probably a few others. However, if someone asks me what Disney movies have the best music, the list is totally different (with the Lion King still holding the top spot). Sliding in behind the movie that brought you “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” are Frozen (the classic “Let it Go”), Pocahontas (“Colors of the Wind”), Mulan (“I’ll Make a Man out of You”) and the always underappreciated Jungle Book. And in a movie that holds a thick jungle (see what I did there?) of songs, “I Wanna be Like You” is a California Redwood, towering high above the rest. Still, there is always room for improvement, and Lauren Desberg most certainly improved this song, bringing in to play her fantastic voice, thumping acoustic baselines and soft brushes on the drums.
