Shorts On The Ledge 2016
At 2:05 p.m., most of the seats in Craft Theater were filled as Community High students filed in to watch Shorts on the Ledge. Ellen Stone, CHS Poetry Club leader, then took the stage, urging everyone to find a seat and welcoming the audience. So many Forums attended Shorts on the Ledge this year that half had to be seated in the dance body room while the other half were in Craft Theater, the poets switching half way through. “Poetry is so popular at Community High School, we don’t have space to all be in the same spot together,” Stone said. Throughout the event, student poets performed poems ranging from the subject of writing a poem to love. Some of these poems were previously performed at the CHS Poetry Slam.
