Pioneer Men’s Cross Country at the 2016 Jackson Invitational

Jackson high school hosted the annual Jackson cross country invite on Sept. 23-24, 2016 at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson Michigan. The field consisted of over seven hundred male and female cross country runners from Division one through division three schools.

Over 10 schools lined up in the boxes for the men’s Division one 5K race on Saturday, Sept. 24. Ann Arbor Pioneer was along the line represented by fourteen of their top runners. The race was a quick competition between many of the state’s top high school runners. Howell runner, Mitchell Day, held the winning time of 15 minutes and 13.1 seconds.

Pioneer had several runners take spots in the top 30.  Nick Foster, an extremely promising PHS sophomore took ninth place with a new personal record of 16 minutes 11 seconds. Aldo-Pand-Girard, also a sophomore, was awarded twenty fourth place with his new personal best of 16 minutes and 37 seconds.

The final race results placed Pioneer in fifth place with 148 points behind Birmingham Seaholm (146 points), Northville (107 points), Saline (105 points) and the winning team Brother rice who took the event with a score of 88 points.
