A Creative Outlet for the Curious
Hawa Dicko is curious. She is fascinated by all of the unknowns of the world, past and present.
Dicko is aware that there is so much that humans don’t know, and even what is taught in school, is not the whole story. “Think about it, our whole lives could be a lie,” Dicko said. “Everything we learn about could be a lie.”
Dicko would love to be able to travel back to any time, and see the world completely raw and as it was. “Maybe I just want to see how the world was formed, how people came about. I want to see the first person.”
Dicko is just as curious about parts of her own life that she only has vague memories of. “I just want to remember what my childhood was like when I was really little, I forget all of that.” Dicko said, “I feel like life goes by so fast, I wish I could go back and remember these things like they happened yesterday.”
In the present, Dicko uses her open and creative mind to express herself. Dicko’s favorite way to do this is through makeup, fashion and writing. She loves the fact that she can communicate her bold personality without using any words. “I guess I use all of these other things to show that I have a lot to say, even though I don’t say it, I’m thinking it. It’s hard for me to be out there, with fashion and makeup I can do that, but through art,” Dicko said.
