Gurbanguly M. Berdymukhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, gave Russian president Vladimir Putin an alabai puppy as a belated birthday gift during a conference of former Warsaw Pact nations at Sochi. He did this in hopes to recover Russian markets for Turkmen gas, which Russia stopped buying last year.

A retired Baltimore teacher hangs onto the hood of a moving school bus, demanding to be let inside. A student allegedly threw a piece of trash at his car. He was later arrested.

State News:

House and Senate Committees consider abolishing Driver Responsibility Fees by October 2018. Under the current plan, they will not be fully phased out until 2019. The fees were originally created in 2003 to boost revenues at the Secretary of State.

Local News:

Ann Arbor Police are investigating reports that hackers are posing as police officers to demand money from people on dating websites. The hackers threaten users with the possibility of an investigation if they are not paid. To the best of the Ann Arbor Police Department’s knowledge, nobody has actually given money to the hackers.
