“So usually I’ll just be hanging out, or walking to school and some idea for a drawing will drop into my mind, and I’ll be like, oh that might look cool. I’ll take a few days to sort of develop that idea and then I start working on it; I do the base sketch, and then I’ll start coloring over that; I draw, it develops, and it’s finished. One of my big sources of inspiration right now is drag queen culture and makeup artists, which are really interesting for me because it’s like seeing how much you can mess with someone’s face. I think [my art] definitely makes me more observant I’ve made friends with a lot of people, based on us doing art and drawing. My day-to-day mood is definitely affected. Like if I haven’t drawn in awhile I would be in a pretty bad mood because I don’t really have an outlet for my creativity without drawing. So I am kind of dependent on it. just to let go of emotions and ideas.”
