Dead of Winter
Ivan Soucy holds rustic deer skull in the dead of winter in a clearing by the Huron river. Soucy discovered the skull along with other deer bones during the summer of 2016. Since cleaning the bones, the skull holds meaning to Soucy. “I like having it in my room,” said Soucy. “It reminds me of my cabin up north where I found it. It has good memories with it.”

Community High junior, iO Soucy, is practically unable to go an hour without either listening to music or talking about strange funk music. Her favorite scent is lavender, and will almost always choose listening over speaking. If she ever appears glum, slap some mint tea and maybe a waffle in her hands.
