“I’ve always been good at standing up for myself. When I was younger, this group of boys would play soccer every recess, and every recess I played they said something to me like “You can’t play because you’re a girl. You don’t know the rules. Your goal doesn’t count because you’re a girl.” And I just kept playing until they stopped coming up to me. And I actually stopped playing after I was accepted by them.”
