Huron unsurprising in homecoming loss
Any hope gained from a season-opening 62-14 blowout win by Huron football was quickly extinguished during their homecoming game vs Temperance Bedford.
“I’m looking forward to bringing a homecoming victory for the first time in a while,” said Antaiwn Mack, Huron’s head coach, before the game. However, on the first drive, junior quarterback Tyson Edmonson threw an interception and Bedford’s Joey Nagle returned it for a touchdown. The game did not go much better after that, as Bedford scored two more times to go up 21-0 with almost the entire second quarter left to play. A Huron touchdown midway through the second quarter gave fans something to cheer about, but at halftime the score was 28-7. After a rain delay during halftime, the crowd thinned out significantly and Huron limped to a 42-7 final score. Next up for Huron is Pioneer, a rival they have lost to 17 straight times.
