Ella Roberts
“I play Pioneer varsity field hockey. I play goalie, and I look ridiculous when I play goalie. We just had our state championship game on Saturday against Dexter. We lost, but we beat Saline to get there. That was an accomplishment. But the game [against Dexter] was kind of embarrassing. We lost 3-0 so it wasn’t really a match. There were a lot of tears from a lot of people. We had four seniors, but they’re gone now. But there were also a lot of underclassmen so next year we’ll have the strength to get there again. Hopefully, we’ll win this time.”
Leah is a junior at Community and this is her first year on staff. Outside of school, she does theater at Pioneer and interns as a wildlife rehabilitator at Howell Nature Center. All of Leah’s writing is done alongside her trusty canine sidekick, Chase. Leah also loves random science facts, so if you know any, please go and tell her!
