BREAKING: President Trump impeached
BREAKING: On Dec. 18, 2019 President Donald Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives on two articles of impeachment: Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Justice. The vote in the House came after months of waiting and investigating. Article 1, Abuse of Power, passed with a vote of 230 to 197 and Article 2, Obstruction of Justice, passed with a vote of 229 to 198.
With the Articles of Impeachment passing in the House of Representatives, there will be a trial in the Senate to see the fate of President Trump. The Republican-lead Senate trial will be the ultimate deciding factor in whether President Trump will be removed from office or not.
During the vote in Capitol Hill, President Trump was speaking at a rally in Battle Creek, Michigan. “I have full confidence the Senate will do the right thing,” Trump said at the rally after hearing the news.
This historic vote makes President Trump just the third United States president to have been impeached.
