“I started to get interested in fashion in eighth grade. I went to Steiner, and you had to do a project that you would work on all year. And I decided to do fashion. That’s when I started thinking about fast fashion, and I became more interested in it. And then I decided to try and buy less new clothes, and things like that. I mostly get used clothes now, and it’s hard sometimes because you can’t always get the things that you want. But that’s also a good thing, because then a lot of the clothes you don’t see everyone wearing. Thinking more about fast fashion helped me be more aware of everything that I was consuming, and all of the pollution I was making. And that having new clothes all the time isn’t really important to me, but fashion is. It’s made me realize that you can still get what you want without having to always get it new.”
