Picture This: Scarlett London
“This is a picture of the ‘end of camp performance’ last summer at Interlochen, which is in northern Michigan. It was a piece with six other dancers and we were all at different levels, from beginning to advanced. It was a really cute piece because we had a pianist and the pianist wrote the music for his wife, who got to see it for the first time at the show. For our costume, we all wore the same sheer black skirt but we all got to wear our own black leotards so they were all unique. The piece was about the music and movement, it was one of my favorite dances I’ve ever done. It felt like we were telling a story while we danced. It was like a love letter from the pianist to his wife.”

This is Arista’s fourth year on staff and second year as one of the Social Media Editors-in-Chief. When she’s not in room 300, you can find her at Chatime. In the rare instance she’s not in either of those places, you can find her at the library working through piles of Ochem and Calc 2 homework, (which she enjoys a little too much). Arista also enjoys walking her bear-like dog, Bailey, in the arb, going to the gym and woodworking. One of her favorite parts of journalism is connecting with members of her community.
