Liam Bush is on a quest to change the sound of music. Growing up, Bush was introduced to a wide variety of music. He had a “tickling feeling” every time he heard music he truly loved. Anything that lacked thet feeling he examined, looking at how he could make the song better by improving the instrumental.
“I would play the songs on CDs and then later on YouTube,” Bush said. “With the instruments I had at home, I would play over the songs and make the song better in my eyes. At first, it wasn’t that good of course but it did get progressively better. Now, I sample a lot of old music and throw different drum breaks and instruments on the beat.”
Over quarantine, Bush found a lot of comfort in the artist JPEGMAFIA and his experimental sound. Bush loved the production of his recent project “LP!”. With tracks like “WHAT KIND OF RAPPIN’ IS THIS?” JPEGMAFIA creates a “feeling like falling through space in slo-mo” according to Bush.

A lifelong inspiration for Bush is Kanye West.
“Ye made me want to make the weirdest music that makes you feel something.” Bush said. “That’s a feeling I’m chasing and wanting to share with others.”
Bush believes he has negative traits in his creative process as well, similar to West.
“I’m self critical beyond belief, like to an almost toxic point,” Bush said. “I almost delete every project I work on just cause the song won’t sound the way I have it planned in my head.”
Bush, knowing what’s causing an issue in his production, makes sure to focus on looking past his criticism and to keep working on the song in his head
