“I went on a trail in Bird Hills Nature Area with my dad and step-mom on the first day of the new year. Honestly, I was still so tired from New Year’s Eve — I probably went to bed at 4 A.M. — and it was super cold outside too. When we started hiking it was sunny, but half an hour in, it started snowing. My dad’s original plan was to go for the long two and a half hour route, but it got so cold as we kept going, we just took a shortcut back. It was funny doing this on new year’s day because I’d never done something like this with my dad and step-mom before, but we’re planning to go on more trails this year!”
