Nadya Matish
Nadya Matish describes how a Shakespeare camp inspired her passion for theatre.
“When I was a little kid, like, seven or eight, my moms put me into this Shakespeare camp thing where we put on Shakespeare plays. So I really liked that I got to play Juliet and Lady Macbeth and stuff. And then in middle school, I did some stuff. And then my (high school) friend was in CET, who’s two years older than me. And she encouraged me to try it out my freshman year and I was like, ‘Alright, I guess I’ll audition,’… I was so scared. I just did the song and I was like, ‘just put me in the ensemble. I don’t want to do anything’ but then I got to it and we did our first music rehearsal and just hearing all the pieces clearly and everyone was so like, nice and welcoming. It was just so fun.”
