“I was warming up to play one of our last hockey games of the season. I was nervous but wasn’t going to let it get to my head. I felt a lot of pressure because our season was wrapping up and our statistics meant more than ever. The coach was screaming from the bench and I’ve never been more focused. We were down by two [goals] but came back and won. I’ve been skating for 14 years and hockey has slowly become my life. Each game, my sense of time becomes more and more real. Each game we play gets me closer to my last game and I don’t think I’m ready for my high school hockey career to be over.”
