“I first got my gecko, Lentil, about three years ago. My dad is allergic to lots of animals, so I wanted to get a gecko so that I could have a pet. I named her Lentil because she’s the color of a green lentil when she’s sleeping, and she’s the color of an orange lentil when she’s awake. She’s nocturnal, so I only get to see her before bedtime. She makes a lot of noise when I’m trying to sleep, but I love her very much.”

Ionie Steudle is a senior at Community High School, and this is her second year on staff. She is a part of the photo team as well as being the fashion editor. When Ionie is not in school, she enjoys sewing and designing her own clothes, thrifting new ones to make her own, doing theater and spending time with her friends and family. Ionie loves spending time outside, and any and all animals are her soft spot. She cannot wait to see what her last and final year holds for her on staff.
