National Espresso Day Delights

National Espresso Day Delights

Coffee comes in many variations. Some prefer it black: no sugar, no milk. Others prefer extravagant holiday flavor combinations from Sweetwaters.

Espresso is an Italian coffee brewing method where hot water is pressed through coffee grounds. It tends to be thicker and much more caffeinated than traditional coffee and is popular in Southern Europe, but also throughout the rest of the world.

On Nov. 23, the United States celebrates National Espresso Day.

Mariah Zeigler, a sophomore, loves Espresso due to its wide cultural reach.

“I’m really happy I learned about it,” Zeigler said. “I drink espresso all the time. It kind of carries my life.”

Her espresso of choice is the Roos Machine Espresso Blend from local Ann Arbor coffee shop, RoosRoast.
