The Communicator Takes Boston

The Communicator Takes Boston

For four days, 21 members of the Communicator and Midnight Sun staffs bonded in Boston. Attending conference sessions surrounding design, climate reporting, staff development and much more, students learned from journalists, photographers and advisors across the country.

“I loved my time in Boston,” Social Media Editor-in-Chief Clara Freeth said. “I got to know everyone in a way that you don’t really get to inside a classroom.”

Beyond participating in conference events, staff members walked the Freedom Trail, watched the Rocky Horror Show, swam in the hotel pool, attempted to catch up on homework and just talked about life beyond school. The publications will embark on another trip in spring, this time to New York City.

“This trip was so fun that it made me feel like I can’t miss the New York trip,” Freeth said. “I’m excited for the future of the Communicator.”
