On Oct. 27, a CHS tradition was officially brought back: the Halloween Dance. The dance had long existed before 2020. However, due to online school, the tradition was subsequently lost. But after talks beginning last year in Forum Council, days of preparation and hours decorating, the dance was brought back.

“It’s really exciting because even though it’s [seniors’] last year, it’ll be our first dance,” said Izzie Jacob, Forum Council co-president. “So it’ll be something new for everyone and hopefully a tradition that we can sustain.”

The night was split between several rooms, with board games, movies and a Mario Kart tournament taking place. However, the dancing took place in the Craft Theater, with DJ and CHS student Gummy Ochoa presiding over the dance floor.

“We really wanted a DJ within Community and he is really good at it so it’s really exciting,” Jacob said. “I think that just makes it that much more personable.”

The Forum Council hopes to bring back the tradition for good. You can read more about it on our website.
