On Thursday, Oct. 26, students and staff flooded the halls of CHS in a variety of costumes. Forum Costume Day promoted creativity through forums to come up with an idea and collectively execute it. Costumes ranged from Smurfs to Gru and his minions.

The Whiteside forum used this day as an opportunity to masquerade as the beloved Community assistant, Kevin.

“Really it’s because Kevin spends a lot of time with us. And here during forum it’s a small homage to the love of Kevin. He’s a little bit of everything,” Whiteside said, “He’s like the uncle that’s fun, but will have a stern talking to you. He’s like your dad who gives you the look and you’re going to melt in place. He is like a friend, he does all the things.”

Ella Hamalainen is part of Becky Brent’s forum who decided to dress as pirates. In light of this, Hamalainen went all out with pirate accessories.

“I am wearing fake tattoos, an eye patch, a thing around my head like a tie, like pirates do,” Hamalainen said, “Some Doc Martens and a shirt from a bar in New York that’s no longer in business.”

Tomorrow’s theme will be a blast from the past. Decades day will show off a variety of styles, so don’t forget to dress like the decade designated to your grade!
