Maggie Lamb doesn’t leave home without her lip products. Her backpack is filled with an assortment of balms and glosses, whose brands range anywhere from Dior to Kylie Cosmetics. Each product has its own purpose, though there are certain ones Lamb favors.
“I recently got the NYX Fat Oil and I think it’s the best lip gloss I’ve ever had,” Lamb said. “But Aquafor is obviously my MVP, I carry it everywhere.”
For sophomore year, Lamb decided to pick up some new habits. One of which is taking care of her lips. It started as a way for her to maintain a “glow up,” but quickly turned into an integral part of her day. She enjoys the challenge of applying the correct ratio of oil and gloss to keep her lips looking perfect.
“I love to keep my lips hydrated,” Lamb said. “They used to be super dry but now they’re not.”
Lamb’s lips have gone through quite the journey. When she was a freshman, Lamb was put on Accutane. Accutane reduces oil production in the skin with the goal of clearing up acne. Because of this, the oil pores that kept Lamb’s lips hydrated shrunk. Lamb was constantly suffering from dry, cracked lips, and could only find relief in various products, such as Aquafor. While Lamb is no longer taking Accutane, she still uses the same lip essentials today as she did back then.
