CET’s production of “Natasha Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” opened on March 1. For members of CET, opening night comes with a multitude of traditions. The fun begins after school when a mix of cast and crew walk downtown together to eat dinner. Then, 30 minutes before the show, everyone participates in special warmups.
Jess Rothstein is a freshman and this is her second show with CET. She loves the quality time she gets to spend with her castmates before opening night.
“The warm-ups are a great time to connect with each other,” Rothstein said. “We’ve been working so hard on the show, and so it’s really cool to see everything come together.”
Another way the crew bonds during opening night is by playing games with each other. John Beach, a senior, is a member of sets crew. He knows that once the sets are finalized, opening night can be relaxing for him. Each show, he looks forward to playing cards, and laughing with his friends.
After months of hard work, both cast and crew are excited to show off all of the hard work and talent that they put into the show.
