“I first started playing tennis because my dad got me into it. I played a lot of sports when I was younger and [tennis] was one of the sports he wanted me to try. I think I started when I was like seven or eight and I played at The Racquet Club, which is kind of like a country club that also has tennis. When I started playing tennis, I wasn’t very good. I didn’t have a lot of natural talent and I think that’s really the main reason why I didn’t like it at games. But my dad didn’t let me quit it so I just had to keep going. But then once I kept playing, I got better and then I started liking it more. Then I kind of had met a lot of new people through tennis and made new relationships. [Now] I play for Huron High School [and] I know this was my first year but it felt really natural. I’m glad that I stuck with it.”
