The Week Ahead: 5/13 to 5/17

Here’s what’s going on at CHS from 5/13 to 5/17

As we near the end of the school year, we have some exciting events coming up.

On Monday, CHS Jazz will be hosting their End of Year

Blowout at the 6 p.m. at The Ark. Tickets will be sold in the counseling office and at the door. Wednesday is a district-wide Early Release Day, which, as a result will be a shortened Friday schedule.

On Friday, CHS will be hosting Commstock, our annual music festival. Student musicians will be preforming on the front lawn between 3:30-6:25 p.m. The event also includes yard games, face painting and free ice cream from Washtenaw Dairy. Additionally, Science, Arts and Letters Night will be happening simultaneously inside the building.

The event is a showcase of some of CHS’s academic achievements.

Finally, we would like to remind you that incoming freshmen and their families are more than invited to both events. We can’t wait to see you there!

Morgan McClease, Social Media Editor-in-Chief

Morgan McClease is a senior and is entering her 4th year on staff and 2nd year as a social media EIC. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and watching really bad 2000s TV shows and movies. When not at school you can find her at the dance studio or working at Sweetwaters making all kinds of drinks, her personal favorite is an apple cinnamon oat milk latte. She is very excited for her final year on staff and can't wait to see what is in store for The Communicator!

Clara Freeth, Print Editor-in-Chief

This is Clara's third year on staff, her second as an Editor-in-Chief. When she's not in room 300 or at the Huron turf for field hockey or lacrosse practice, she can be found wandering around her neighborhood listening to one of her carefully curated playlists or living out her secret life as Hannah Montana — but don't tell anyone. This year, she is one-fourth of the print team and couldn't be more excited for what is ahead!

Lucia Page Sander, Print Editor-in-Chief

This is Lucia's sixth semester on staff, third as an Editor-in-Chief, and first as a Print Editor-in-Chief. When she's not playing soccer for the Michigan Jaguars, competing for Lily Weightlifting, or enjoying her many responsibilities at CHS, you can find her in the Huron River, on the phone with last year's Communicator EICs, or jumping on her mini trampoline. Lucia loves surfing, watermelon, all things agriculture, and is in the process of learning how to predict the weather using clouds and enjoy long-distance running. She is anticipating a spectacular final year at Community and the helm of The Communicator.
