A mastodon greeted CHS FOS I students as they entered the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History. Having recently completed their biology and evolutionary studies unit, this field trip was a fun way for students to conclude that portion of the year.
Ellie Robbins and Amelia Knight were among the students who went on the field trip. They both enjoyed the museum and had fun with the assigned scavenger hunt.
“It was really fun and educational,” Knight said.
This was her first field trip since elementary school due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led Knight to enjoy this experience a little extra.
“My favorite part was getting to touch some of the exhibits,” Robbins said.
It was her first field trip in five years as well and she had a great time; trilobites, permineralized fossils and triceratops skulls made this FOS II field trip a memorable class that Robbins and Knight agreed was a blast.
