Celebrating our Seniors

Following tradition, soon-to-be graduates came together to put a bow on the last four years after their final day of classes at CHS.

As the end of the school year rapidly approaches, senior celebrations continue. From the senior spork game to our forum senior send-off, today, May 23, 2024, was one of the last celebrations for the seniors. The next is graduation, where CHS sends the seniors into their next chapter of life.

By 2 p.m., the class of 2024 gathered in the craft theater, where Noah Kahan’s song, “You’re Gonna Go Far,” blasted throughout the theater, creating a sentimental setting for the celebration. Dean Marci Tuzinsky and Assistant Dean Rebecca Westrate stood onstage as seniors filed into the room. Seniors were seated with their fellow forumettes, whom they had experienced high school with.

“When I was walking into the theater, I finally began to fully realize that I’m graduating in a week,” Ari Taylor, a CHS senior, explained. “I just remembered being a junior and seeing all of my senior friends on their last day and thinking, ‘Wow, that’s going to be me one day.’ And now that day is here, and it’s full of so many crazy, exciting and sad feelings.”

Luca Hinesman is a junior at Community High School, and this is his second year on staff! He's apart of practically everything offered at CHS, including CET, Mock Trial, Wes Anderson clurb and the best forum, the Stern forum. When he isn't busy doing his countless extracurriculars, buying lots of pick-me-up sweet treats and doing calculus homework, he loves to watch movies, read books about insufferable characters and hang out with his buddies. Luca is so excited to help guide The Communicator this year as a Web Editor-in-Chief!

Clara Freeth, Print Editor-in-Chief

This is Clara's third year on staff, her second as an Editor-in-Chief. When she's not in room 300 or at the Huron turf for field hockey or lacrosse practice, she can be found wandering around her neighborhood listening to one of her carefully curated playlists or living out her secret life as Hannah Montana — but don't tell anyone. This year, she is one-fourth of the print team and couldn't be more excited for what is ahead!

Lucia Page Sander, Print Editor-in-Chief

This is Lucia's sixth semester on staff, third as an Editor-in-Chief, and first as a Print Editor-in-Chief. When she's not playing soccer for the Michigan Jaguars, competing for Lily Weightlifting, or enjoying her many responsibilities at CHS, you can find her in the Huron River, on the phone with last year's Communicator EICs, or jumping on her mini trampoline. Lucia loves surfing, watermelon, all things agriculture, and is in the process of learning how to predict the weather using clouds and enjoy long-distance running. She is anticipating a spectacular final year at Community and the helm of The Communicator.
