I had spent what felt like an eternity in the hospital. Each day was the same; I would wake up, go to the hospital, pray for my grandma to get better, go home and repeat. Me and my grandma’s favorite dessert was chocolate lava cake. One day, the only day my mom didn’t take me to the hospital with her, I got lava cake for dessert. But that night, just as I finished the last bite of cake, my mom called– ¨Grandma Debbie has passed.¨ Now, lava cake and prayers are two things I no longer believe in.
