We met during the pandemic.

Not the traditional start to friendships.

We were in the same Zoom class and he was the only one that had his camera on too.

I didn’t recognize him.
I sent him an email, and I asked about his interests.
It took him 1 month to respond.

I’ll never let him forget it.

That email helped me find a best friend, sticking together through virtual 7th grade and in-person 8th grade.

And then he moved away.

I missed him so much.

I still miss him.

He’s still one of my best friends.
