As the class of 2026 filed into the Craft Theatre for their first junior meeting of the 2024-2025 school year, they knew they had a lot to cover. The meeting, on Monday, September 9, was full of information and advice for the year.
The new juniors ate their lunches and watched counselor Brian Williams as he walked them through the year. Williams covered the many resources provided, highlighting junior workshops and various college visits to expect, including New York University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and more. Assistant Dean Rebecca Westrate joined Williams to discuss the different tests and the process for them.
One junior, Autumn Klus-Salisbury observed the reminders of the importance of maintaining grades and preparing for the future. “It kind of scared me when they were talking about this being the year to make sure everything’s good,” Klus-Salisbury said. For her, regardless of any fear, this meeting was also a reminder of the support that CHS offers and the people who can help. “I feel really prepared for this year,” Klus-Salisbury said.
