This weeks #FashionFriday is Meghan Pillote!
Today Pillote is rocking a leopard print tank top paired with a bedazzled “I heart Michelle Obama” hat. Along with that she has on her signature necklace, her favorite vintage Levi jeans, and a new statement phone case.
Pillote has been wanting to experiment with fashion ever since she was little, but felt as though she had to keep her true style hidden to “fit in”. It wasn’t until the end of her freshman year when she really let go of that narrative.
“I think my style over the years has just changed in many ways,” Pillote said. “Now I try to just wear what makes me confident, and I think I look cool. At the end of the day, I don’t really care how the outfit looks to other people, as long as I feel good in it.”
Once Pillote started to play more with fashion she felt more confident, and more herself. Pilote finds her outfit inspiration through various ways; such as pinterest, the people around her, and staying up to date with what’s in style.
“I just try to have fun with fashion,” Pillote said. “When I’m thrifting and looking for pieces, I just try to look for things that I know I like and will make me happy when I wear it and items that feel the most like me.”
Pillotes style is ever changing and she doesn’t like to label her personal style because it ties her down too much. She shares that within fashion her favorite part is playing around with various different patterns and colorways. She sees fashion more like a creative outlet more than anything, and plans to continue to evolve her style.
“I think it’s so much fun to experiment with mixing patterns and stuff,” Pillote said. “I love it. I also just love bright colors. I think that can be so much fun, and be such a big statement piece in an outfit.”
