“I’ve started thinking more about the future and what I want to do. I’ve realized that I’ve been living a life for other people almost, trying to live up to their goals for me. You know in 100 years we’ll all be in the ground, dead, not in a sad depressing way, but it tells me to make the most of the present, and my time now. No one is going to care what you did and whose expectations you lived up to, so my aspiration is to start living life purely for myself, not in a selfish way, but in a way where I do everyday things for myself. This year I’m going to have more of a mindset where I do things that I want to do, reaching out and doing new things that I used to be scared to do. I just want to live my life and experience new things, without anyone’s judgment getting in the way. I’ve already been doing new things that have made good changes, I moved from Ohio to Michigan and ended up at an alternative school. I started taking Journalism, which I almost wasn’t going to do because I was scared. Taking risks is something we should all do, whether it be something super small or something life-changing.”
