Seniors Isaiah Horton and Ryan Grant walk into their forum room on senior send off day. Johnson Forum had set up cake, popcorn, and goodbye gifts for them. “I really enjoy senior send off,” Ellie Fox, a junior in Johnson Forum, said. “It gives us one last time to really celebrate and say goodbye to our seniors. It was especially important to me this year because it was the last send off before my own.”

Luca LaVeta is a CHS junior, soon to be a senior. LaVeta has been taking French for four years, and for their French four class, the class is painting a mural. "I'm so, so happy that I get to paint a mural at Community," LaVeta said. "I'm excited to leave my mark on Community with some awesome art."

Angela Davis watches the unveiling of the Jones School plaque. Davis was proud of how hard the community worked to put up this marker and uncover pieces of Ann Arbor’s history. “Where we are is the mecca of the Black community, and to have this marker, the ceremony, the veiling on the marker, and everything else that's going on really speaks volumes for everyone,” Davis said. “We are successful. We are family. And that doesn't mean just us, but that means we are family with everyone. Really proud to be a part of this ceremony.”

When they aren’t busy being a part of their countless extracurriculars, buying lots of pick-me-up sweet treats and doing calculus homework, they love to watch movies, read books about insufferable characters and hang out with their buddies.
