Steve Coron enjoys a peanut Washtenaw Dairy donut he sent a student to purchase from Sparrow Market. Coron was kind enough to buy donuts for the block four journalism class students as a special treat. Despite concerns from his wife about the safety of his credit card, Steve trusts some of his students to buy them. "My wife says, Why are you buying donuts for these kids all the time? And I say, because I love to feed the babies," Coron said. "If you put your trust in teenagers, it's always a crapshoot, isn't it? But I know who to trust now."

Isla Tharp and Addie McCreadie look at the photos they took on the second floor after sixth block. They were both done with classes for the day and had to wait around after school. “Because of the extra time and Forum Council being canceled, we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to go take some photos,” Tharp said. “I loved seeing Addie Frolicking in the hallways and having fun.”

Bee Whalen is in the homestretch with his high school career. He has been a vital part of his staff since his freshman year and now serves has been serving as The Communicator's art director. “I’ve always found myself focused and centered in illustration in journalism, more than anything else," Whalen said. "While that’s awesome, sometimes I feel like I’ve needed the space to push myself more to experiment. Writing for print Edition 1 was incredibly rewarding in that way, and has made me excited to continue exploring the possibilities more before the end of this school year.”

Hannah Crabtree is in their third year at CHS as an art teacher. Over the years, she has taught digital photography, film photography, beginning drawing, and mixed media and has become a beloved forum leader. Not only that, during 2024, she and Tracy Anderson became more involved with the Food Gatherers fundraiser at St. Andrews. “One thing that's been really exciting for me is getting to be involved with St Andrews,” Crabtree said. “Getting to see more of that direct impact and getting to bring students over there and start to rebuild that relationship. So that's been really exciting.”

Theo McCready and Tempe Stilverson sit on the second-floor ledge as they chat it up. They both finished a test and had spare time before each of their next classes, so they decided to catch up. "I love Tempe," McCready says. "We have a very similar sense of humor, and he's so much fun to talk to."

Bee Whalen is in the home stretch till graduation. Over his high-school career, he has grow to cherish the friendships he's made so far. "I have grown so much throughout high school," Whalen said. "Kat has seen it all."
