Dozer Cafe is a modern and sophisticated space for all located just off Jackson road. If you’re looking for a relatively quiet spot to study or a nice place to catch up with friends, Dozer Cafe is the perfect spot. Journalists Paige Plavnick, Vedha Kakarla and Lukas Dinkleman visited the cafe to rate the food and ambience.
Ambience:
Raters: Vedha Kakarla, Paige Plavnick and Lukas Dinkelman
Rating: 9/10
The ambience of Dozer Cafe is arguably perfect. There are multiple areas of the cafe with varying levels of noise, allowing the customer to choose a spot depending on their needs. The service is really welcoming, and the employees answered any questions we had with a smile. There are plenty of food and drink options with specific items for dietary restrictions and the cafe also had a nice playlist that made the place feel cozy.
Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Latte:
Rater: Vedha
Rating: 7.5/10
The iced brown sugar latte with oat milk was a solid coffee drink. The coffee flavor was strong but not overpowering, and the hint of brown sugar came through at the end. The only critic I have is that I wished there would have been a little more of the brown sugar flavor.
Hot Chocolate:
Rater: Paige
Rating: 8/10
The hot chocolate had a great taste and was pretty rich, however it could have had a slightly thicker, creamier consistency. The design made out of foam on the top of the drink was the perfect addition and added a layer of foam that elevated the taste of the drink.
Cherry Vanilla Scone:
Rater: Lukas
Rating: 7/10
The scone was perfectly iced in a vanilla icing, with just the right amount of cherries mixed in. The thickness of the scone was perfect, however it could have been fresher and slightly heated for a better taste and texture.
Spicy Italian Sando:
Rater: Vedha
Rating: 7/10
The spicy Italian sando was a ready-made cold sub. It came with a variety of meats, red onion and Calabrian chili mayo, all on a Costanzo’s roll. The roll was light and airy, but the sandwich as a whole was nice and filling. It wasn’t as spicy as I would have thought and it could have been a little fresher.
Iced Chai:
Rater: Lukas
Rating – 6.5/10
The iced chai was pretty good, however it lacked some flavor. The milk to chai ratio could’ve been stronger because there wasn’t enough chai. The drink had hints of cinnamon that really elevated the taste.
Overall:
Raters: Vedha Kakarla, Paige Plavnick and Lukas Dinkelman
Rating: 9/10
After trying many items and experiencing everything the place has to offer, we believe that Dozer Cafe is a great spot to try out if you are in the Ann Arbor area and are looking for a modern coffee spot. The ambience paired with the delicious food and drinks made for a great time. We will definitely be visiting again!
