Chloe Root prepares her Mock Trial A and B teams for a run-through of their case. The teams were going up against each other tonight, A vs. A and B vs. B. “We were talking a little bit about some of the preparations for the upcoming regional tournament in Grand Rapids,” Root said. “The teams this year are more prepared and more motivated than I’ve seen in a long time.”

The vigil was directed by Eugene Bondarenko, a Ukrainian native with deep personal ties to the war. “Three years into a war, there's fatigue," Bondarenko said. Charlie Guyton stands in the Zebrotics team mascot costume during a robotics competition. Although Guyton was not a member of the drive team, he found a way to show his support by wearing the costume. "I felt that we had to have someone exemplifying the Zebrotics spirit, and it had to be me," Guyton said. "It was great to put it on and really feel like part of the team."

Luca Hinesman and Leo Castilho edit an article in Room 300. Hinesman and Castilho wanted to put the finishing touches on the article before uploading it to The Communicator's website. "I love editing," Hinesman said. "I love looking at people's writing, and seeing where they can grow and how I can help them."

Kai Camara enjoys a sunny afternoon before CET with friends. Kai’s friend was dragging her into the photo to make use of the good lighting and it turned into a fun wrestling game. “When you're outside, you can kind of just be as loud as you want and just have fun without worrying about other people,” Camara said. “In the winter time, I kind of hibernate, but in the summertime, I'm fully me.”

Emma Goblirsch takes time out of her busy day to sew her new pointe shoes to prepare for a dance competition over the weekend. Goblirsch loved being able to add her own special touch to the shoes, despite the extra time and energy it took. "They come without any elastics or ribbons attached, so everyone sews them on by themselves. It takes a really long time, but then they're perfect," Goblirsch said. "Everyone wants some variety. Sometimes I sew my back elastic crisscross, sometimes I sew them in just one loop, and sometimes I add extra elastic to the front."

Esh Schaden barrels down a slope at Boyne Mountain. He had come directly from Lake Tahoe, making it his fourth consecutive day of skiing. "I've skied 25 hours in less than a week," Schaden said. "The good thing is there's always new things to try."
