Cast members in CHS’ production of Curtains pose dramatically during one of their numbers. Isla Tharp especially loved performing this number. “I love this particular song because it’s so dramatic and over the top, and it really gives a lot of room to have fun with the character," Tharp said. “Everyone brought their own twist to their reactions, and it just makes the scene so much fun.”

Nina Beals is Randy Dexter in CET's production of "Curtains." There wasn't a minute where she didn't love being on stage with her fellow comedic actors. "That photo was taken during the opening act of the show," Beals said. "It's one of my favorite parts of the show because we get to be over the top with that nature/style of theater. Our show has been really funny, and getting to work with Toula, Milly and Ionie has been so silly and rewarding."

Julianne Heller watches the sunset during a break at CET. It had been a long day, and Heller took one of her first breaks during tech week to step outside and take in the view. “It's just such a wonderful environment that I would stay as long as it took to get the show where it needed to be,” Heller said. “The sky and background are like my emotions when I'm at CET.”

Kamari Ronfeldt is a track and cross-country runner who splits between Pioneer and Community High School. He was wearing the Pioneers signature purple when walking through the halls. “Pioneer is kinda lame compared to Community," Ronfeldt said. “When life gives you lemons, you have to make a school like Pioneer and infuse it with lemons so you can maximize profit; this is how we know that school is a moneymaking government conspiracy and we should defund the board of education.”

"Connect with Community went well," Jacobson said. "Obviously, it's only just started, but compared to last year's, it is better."

Clara Freeth is a senior in her last semester with The Communicator, while Della Bank is a freshman in her first semester. Bank has loved being on staff this semester because of people like Freeth and her ability to explore journalism with photography. "Yesterday was my photography debut at orchestra night, and it was really fun because my mom is also a photographer, and she also brought her camera," Bank said. "So, she showed me how to take pictures."

To CHS sophomore Justin Davis, robotics competitions are a way to learn more about how other robotics teams work and see how his team’s approach compares. After several months of work, it can be hard to admit that things could have been done better, but Davis saw self-criticism as an important way to get as much as possible out of competitions.“I’m confident that we can do well next time,” Davis said. “Considering how we did in Ferndale, we have things to change, but I’m excited to see what we do.”
