Evelyn Stansfield is an upcoming senior and Mock Trial extraordinaire at CHS. She has been a part of mock trial since her freshman year and has all the emotions about next year’s senior year. “I’m really excited for senior year,” Stansfield said. “I think it’ll be really fun, and it’ll feel good to get college applications done, but it’s also nerve-racking because of how fast high school has gone by.”

Annelise Ledbetter pretends to cut Eva Edwards' hair during their FOS II class at the end of the day at Community. Students had been studying for an upcoming test when Edwards made an offhanded comment about her hair, and Ledbetter sprung to the occasion. "Our science class is very silly," Ledbetter said. "We have six or seven people all at the same table, and the word 'gullible' written on the ceiling."

CHS senior Will Millitzer practices the piano in the practice room while his friend James Dickson sits disdainfully nearby. The pair had been working on music together, but Dickson had become bored and lost interest in the session. "I try to practice about an hour and a half each day. Today, I think I've been in here for about 15 minutes so far," Millitzer said. "I'm pretty sure we've been in here for two hours," Dickson added.

Kirra Molek makes a transaction with a student at Community High to fundraise with her club, Heart Fund. Molek previously volunteered at Ozone House and fell in love with community service. "I eventually decided to create this club to make a difference during the holidays," Molek stated. "The inspiration for a bake sale came from other clubs at Community, Its a cute way to raise quick money."

Felix Porter stands along the sideline of the Veterans Memorial Park cyclocross, preparing to hand out candy to the junior racers as they bike past. Porter had been at the course since the more competitive divisions raced earlier in the day, and was disappointed with the conditions. "Really, this isn't proper cyclocross weather," Porter said. "On a good day, there would be rain and mud everywhere, and people would be falling all over the place. That's the fun part about this sport."

Sophomore Ani Ledbetter reads through a bulky textbook. Ledbetter is working on U.S history at CHS Snack and Study. "I like coming to Snack and Study because I get to work with teachers one on one," Ledbetter said. "It helps me not procrastinate so much."

Freshman Zenio Vesia shares his cake with many other students on the back lawn. This became a major event, as peers, including sophomore Felix Porter, flocked to Vesia to grab a piece of cake. "The cake was a day past its sell by date, so we got it for free," Porter said. "It was a pretty yummy, high quality cake. I think there was a cake fight at the end too."

When they’re not expertly steering the chaos of The Communicator, Luca can be found performing in CET’s theatre program, participating in mock trial, or working as a weekend barista. Outside of their extracurriculars, they are a film critic and fashionista. Don’t worry about Luca; they got it on lock.
