Arielle Kahana and Liliana Drake pose in the sunlight on the Kerrytown steps, showing off their matching stripes.

Layering different shirts and wearing her favorite pair of jeans, Kahana jokes that her style is reminiscent of Bella Swan from the “Twilight” film series.
“I also just really like this outfit,” Kahana said. “It’s kind of chilly today, so I figured this would be nice.”
In middle school, both Kahana and Drake experimented with different styles of clothing, trying everything from emo and alternative styles to girlier and more basic outfits.
“I landed on something like what I‘m wearing today after trial and error and discovering what my style is,” Kahana said.
With Drake’s color-coordination and go-to outfit combo, she also feels like she’s found her personal style, without feeling pressure to solely fit into one specific aesthetic.
“I just love what I wear, and if it makes me feel good, then I wear it,” Drake said.
Entering high school, both freshmen recognize how much they’ve learned about themselves throughout the years, as is reflected in their evolving fashion styles.
