Carob powder is similar to coco powder but is a safe and delicious alternative for dogs to ingest. Treat your dog to this homemade recipe.

Ingredients:
3 cups whole-wheat flour
⅓ cups cornmeal
⅓ cups carob powder
¼ tbsp vanilla powder
¼ melted butter
1 egg
4 tbsp honey
1 tbsp canola oil

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine flour, carob powder, cornmeal, and vanilla powder and mix thoroughly. Then mix in honey and canola oil. Melt butter in a separate bowl, and add to the large bowl. Also, add a whisked egg. Make sure all ingredients are well mixed. Add extra flour or oil to get the consistency of dough. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake on lightly floured cookie sheet for about 12 minutes. Flip and cook for another 9 minutes, or until lightly brown and slightly firm to the touch. Let cool on counter before feeding to dogs. This recipe makes about 1 ½ pound.
